Aikatsu Stars! Insert Song – Fantastic Ocean is OUT!!!

Another music release after the recent big one?

To be honest, I’m still behind watching Aikatsu Stars! and I’m unfamiliar with a couple of songs in the album. Regardless, these new tracks are very great to listen, especially Kouya no Kiseki, the Dreaming Bird of Season 2. So yeah, with a song that’s on the same caliber as Dreaming Bird, then you’ll know this album is awesome.

Aikatsu! COMPLETE CD-BOX is OUT!!!

We came, we saw, we conquered!

…and Happy 4th of July!

It’s finally here and boy it took forever to re-tag (ie Romanize) the collection with 276 music tracks. That’s right, Aikatsu! COMPLETE CD-BOX is arguably the ultimate song collection containing the same songs you downloaded a million times already, but the collection also include alternate versions of songs never before heard outside the anime. Tracks include the MadoRin version of Friend, Aoi solo of strange alien and the dreaded Eien no Tomoshibi Akari version just to name a few.

And yeah, we’re happy and proud to share this massive collection to everyone.

We got this, Fam

Pulled a few strings, threatened a lot of people at gunpoint, sipped some tea and confessed to Aoi again. Give us 1-2 days tops to prepare everything.

[News] What’s in the box?

A box of goodies arrived and let’s see what’s inside and woe at the fact these will never be scanned and translated.

Unless of course you’re going to help us in the translation department *wink* *wink*

>tfw fully ripped volume 6

Just ripped and scanned the last chapter of Sakura Trick volume 6. After a couple of weeks of fixing the scans, volume 6, chapter 10 will be ready for typesetting. So…

Any bored translators around? We’re still looking for some for Sakura Trick (and Aikatsu!).

Aikatsu Stars! Original Soundtrack – Aikatsu Stars! no Ongaku!! 01 is OUT!!!

Special delivery! Sorry for the wait, folks. The CD took a while to arrive and it’s not really easy re-tagging 85 music tracks (I wrote this at 4:30 AM in the morning). Anyway…

Proof of purchase

We’re very happy to share you the first volume of the Aikatsu Stars! OST and this was made possible by your continued support of donors and our patron Kiwi over at Twitter. The more you support Lazy Lily Fansubs, the more we can share. And with that said…

CDs or no CDs? That is the question.

Aoi is mai wai—favorite idol!

We‘re reaching/reached our donation goal and I’m happy folks are donating for the upcoming event this July. Once we get the 60 bucks, we’ll start buying them books as soon as they’re available and while I’m at it, I may get this and this. Now what are these? If you haven’t played the mobile game Aikatsu! Photo on Stage!! (Photokatsu), these books, titled the Aikatsu! Photo on Stage!! Illustration Collection, contain all of the current cards featured in the game. If you don’t want to play the game, then you can just get these instead. And yeah, we’ll scan them once we have them.

With all that said though… I’m in a bind here.

As you may have already know, we’re currently the main providers of Aikatsu! music rips. We didn’t provide every CD but this is one of the things that we’re proud of. I could provide every rip of OG Aikatsu! if I’m given the chance, and that chance is coming in the form of Aikatsu! Complete CD-Box. This collection contains all of the songs, soundtrack(?) of OG Aikatsu!, and from what I’ve read, it also contains alternate versions of songs like Eien no Tomoshibi Akari version, or maybe prism spiral with more pronounced clapping sounds. A part of me wants to get this collection, rip them to FLAC and share them, but the problem is the collection costs around 300+ USD. Yeouch!

EDIT: Price went up to almost 400 USD. Amazon.co.jp link here.

Sure, apart from the alternate versions of songs, you can get the rest of the songs by downloading any of those batch torrents, but I want to go a step further by providing high resolution scans of the covers and other stuff like booklets and a lyrics book, if ever. But ultimately the reason I want to have this collection because I want to be the number 1 when it comes to Aikatsu! music sharing. It’ll be a major accomplishment for me as a provider.

If you were in my shoes, what would you do? Use the current donations to buy the art books and doujins, so you’ll see more translations? Or use the current donations to buy this massive music collection, rip them and share them to the fans?

My noggin is no longer joggin’

Contrary to popular belief, I, SHiN, is not, well, popular amongst the fan translation community. Now why is that? There are many reasons like I don’t hang out in IRC anymore, I don’t browse /a/ anymore, I don’t post in forums anymore, and since I don’t do fansubs anymore, my peers doesn’t know I exist. The fix is actually easy: Interact with the community again. Unfortunately I barely have free time to check a ton of places at once, and sometimes my brain fries because of information overload. Without community activity (with a dab of notoriety), it’s hard to reach out for help. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve made a lot of friends in the past 10 years and helped me a lot with my projects. Sadly, everything’s not forever and my friends either moved on to do something with their time or they retired.

My question is, how do I find more people to help me out with Sakura Trick and Aikatsu! yuri doujinshi translations? And what do you think of the idea we pay a translator a fee for translating our stuff?

What I’m doing currently is to put help wanted ads in every releases we produce to catch the interests of a passing translator. The problem of this is we currently don’t have a translator to make new translations and slip in our help wanted ads. Basically no translation to share = less likely for people to know we’re out there looking for help.

Pay for translations? I’m okay with that, but… Call me a Negative Nelly, but it’s hard to find someone who is willing to work for a fee and at the same time has genuine interests in translating anime. A few years ago I hired a translator to TLC an anime episode and he asked 30 bucks for the fee. He certainly did his job, but the translations were lifeless and I ended up redoing the episode with a more lively script.

I really don’t know what to do at the moment, so I’m asking you guys for some advice, or point me in the right direction.

Unfortunately you won’t be seeing any more Aikatsu! and Sakura Trick translations until we find a translator interested in helping this small group. Please help us out here!
