[Help!] How to find these elusive translators?

The “no-TL drought” has plagued this group for years now and I just hope we’ll get one after this summer heat is over. But I won’t ignore the fact Aikatsu! is very niche compared to her popular sisters like Idolmaster, PreCure and Normi—Love Live, and it also attributed to this drought we’re experiencing. Sucks Aikatsu! isn’t popular outside Japan.

And this begs the question: How do I get someone to join this small group and stay with us for at least a year? I’ve tried any option I could think of and they didn’t work. Am I going to end up hiring translators to do the stuff I want? If that’s the case, I think I’m willing to negotiate a deal to any translator interested.

Though, I’d rather prefer a translator who translates for fun, instead of translating for money. And besides, the donations Lazy Lily gets will go the books, CDs, and sometimes fees for other things. Additionally, I’m working as a part time writer to get some extra dosh, so maybe I can afford compensating some… Though I’m saving some of it for my Japan trip next February and personally enter an Aikatsu!-only Event to buy some rare book some rare books.

TL;DR

Please help translate for Lazy Lily Fansubs. Email: here.

[News] In light of the shenanigans at Dynasty Scans

According to recent statistics coming out of my ass that is scientifically approved and FDA approved, 99% of our doujin and manga followers read our stuff by downloading them directly from this website. So chances of them caring what’s going on with Lazy Lily and Dynasty Scans is close to nil, but to the rest who do read our stuff from online readers like Dynasty Scans, there is some unfortunately bad news. Due to a recent confrontation with the moderation team of Dynasty Scans, Lazy Lily Fansubs is pulling her translations out in protest.

As of this writing, our Aikatsu-related translations and Sakura Trick translations are still in Dynasty Scans, but the Dynasty team is committed on removing them as soon as humanly possible.

So what happened?

Aikatsu Stars! the Movie is OUT!!!

I know a certain someone wants to use that certain RolaYume screenshot instead of this one, but… There’s a sliiiiiiiiiight chance there are a few people who haven’t seen the movie yet. So yeah, just in case.

This fansub release is part two of our 10 year anniversary celebration as fansubbers/content providers and the best way to celebrate this special moment is fansubbing the very anime that keeps the group going! Part one, Aikatsu! OVA, can be found here! Plus it’s summer, Aikatsu Stars! the Movie is just perfect for the season!

Aikatsu! OVA – Nerawareta Mahou no Aikatsu! Card is OUT!!!

To celebrate our 10 years as fansubbers, music rippers, scanlators, and the like, we present you Lazy Lily Fansubs, uh, fansub version of Aikatsu! OVA – The Search for the Magic Aikatsu! Card!

Yeah, I know, the movie came out a hundred thousand years ago, but at the time, we were understaffed (as usual). Eventually we got some help and subbed the OVA and, yes, we also subbed the movie. The movie is still not complete, so we’re gonna share the OVA first.

Aikatsu Stars! Insert Song – Fantastic Ocean is OUT!!!

Another music release after the recent big one?

To be honest, I’m still behind watching Aikatsu Stars! and I’m unfamiliar with a couple of songs in the album. Regardless, these new tracks are very great to listen, especially Kouya no Kiseki, the Dreaming Bird of Season 2. So yeah, with a song that’s on the same caliber as Dreaming Bird, then you’ll know this album is awesome.

[News] What’s in the box?

A box of goodies arrived and let’s see what’s inside and woe at the fact these will never be scanned and translated.

Unless of course you’re going to help us in the translation department *wink* *wink*

Aikatsu Stars! Original Soundtrack – Aikatsu Stars! no Ongaku!! 01 is OUT!!!

Special delivery! Sorry for the wait, folks. The CD took a while to arrive and it’s not really easy re-tagging 85 music tracks (I wrote this at 4:30 AM in the morning). Anyway…

Proof of purchase

We’re very happy to share you the first volume of the Aikatsu Stars! OST and this was made possible by your continued support of donors and our patron Kiwi over at Twitter. The more you support Lazy Lily Fansubs, the more we can share. And with that said…

My noggin is no longer joggin’

Contrary to popular belief, I, SHiN, is not, well, popular amongst the fan translation community. Now why is that? There are many reasons like I don’t hang out in IRC anymore, I don’t browse /a/ anymore, I don’t post in forums anymore, and since I don’t do fansubs anymore, my peers doesn’t know I exist. The fix is actually easy: Interact with the community again. Unfortunately I barely have free time to check a ton of places at once, and sometimes my brain fries because of information overload. Without community activity (with a dab of notoriety), it’s hard to reach out for help. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve made a lot of friends in the past 10 years and helped me a lot with my projects. Sadly, everything’s not forever and my friends either moved on to do something with their time or they retired.

My question is, how do I find more people to help me out with Sakura Trick and Aikatsu! yuri doujinshi translations? And what do you think of the idea we pay a translator a fee for translating our stuff?

What I’m doing currently is to put help wanted ads in every releases we produce to catch the interests of a passing translator. The problem of this is we currently don’t have a translator to make new translations and slip in our help wanted ads. Basically no translation to share = less likely for people to know we’re out there looking for help.

Pay for translations? I’m okay with that, but… Call me a Negative Nelly, but it’s hard to find someone who is willing to work for a fee and at the same time has genuine interests in translating anime. A few years ago I hired a translator to TLC an anime episode and he asked 30 bucks for the fee. He certainly did his job, but the translations were lifeless and I ended up redoing the episode with a more lively script.

I really don’t know what to do at the moment, so I’m asking you guys for some advice, or point me in the right direction.
